Thank you!

Kenny Graham

Morning Everyone!

On behalf of Shannon, myself, and the Revenge Cycling & Promotions/Racing family – we would like to thank everyone for making our 2017 racing season a big success!  A lot of great things came from the races this year, along with some new and lasting relationships.  Nothing ever happens in cycling promotions without volunteers, sponsors, community support, and you the racers.   We would like to recognize and say THANK YOU to an amazing group of people that are committed to working and support racing in Oregon.

Our Volunteers – Every year we are have been blessed with such amazing support.  I just want to express how much we appreciate all the time and effort you gave us and the OBRA cycling community.   Without you, we don’t have races!   Special THANK YOU to the following:

Brenda Middleton – Every race she came out and helped set the course at 6AM, was one of our lead corner marshals at a critical intersection, and broke the course down – EVERY RACE!  Never complained and always there with a smile!  Racing without you wouldn’t be the same – Love ya!  Tell BJ – THANK YOU!!!!

Raj Injety – Like Brenda, he was also a critical to our success this year!  Not only was he at critical intersection on course as well, Raj came to our rescue and basically became the go-to for reconfiguring the OBRA truck after every race!   He also helped me in my driveway for about 2 ½ hours reconfiguring the truck that was received it in the worst condition I’ve ever seen it from another team.  In the dark, the night before the race – and piece by piece he helped me put the truck back together so that it could ready in the morning!   Sands Of Time My Friend!!!

Kate Riggs - Ms. Everything and Do Anything!  Kate wasn’t just our medical support for all four races.  She helped every race setting the course!  With coffee in hand and smile, she ALWAYS jumped right in!  She also was the official start holder for all the races.  When everything was done, she also helped with breaking down everything and keeping me laughing!   Thank you for all time you’ve given us this year and always willing to support us when in need!

Harry Phinney – Mr. Dependable.   Every time, and I mean every time I needed help, Harry was the first to jump in and support our efforts.   Having you at the races this year, made worry that much less.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Michael Longmire.  Thank you and Julie for being there when needed this year!  I know you have been going through a lot this year, and the conversations we had this weekend in the truck meant a lot to me.  If you ever need anything from us, please let us know.  We appreciate and love you both!

The Lee Family – (Mr. & Mrs. Lee) – When I need volunteers, it rare that I can get parents of a racer to support our events!   I wouldn’t trade Mr. and Mrs. Lee for the world – you two are that AWESOME!

Bryant Howard – With numbers being down everywhere, you reached out to me with the greatest idea – working together!   I will never forget that for as long as I live.  It gave me new insight and the will to want to work harder!   Thank you my friend, and I look forward working with you in the future!

OBRA cyclists – Without your participation, we don’t race!   Thank you for driving from all over the state to race our events!   From as far away as Chula Vista Ca, Enterprise Oregon and Spokane WA, you keep coming back!   Love you all!

Last but never least – my wife Shannon.

You are always my voice of reason when I don’t want to listen.  You are teaching me patience in ways that I never thought possible.   Teaching me to relax and focus of what is truly important.  For all that you endure with me the night before a race and everything else that goes on behind the scenes – I LOVE YOU DEARLY!!!

That’s all I’ve got y ’all – WHEW!  See you next year!!!!

Cheers!

Each Time I Go To Bed, I Pray LIke Aretha Franklin!

Kenny Graham

One of the most concerning things that you worry about as a promoter is the weather!  You can't predict it, you can't change it, you can only HOPE and PRAY!   After the episode of storms that rolled through the Oregon on Friday and Saturday, I could only hope for a change in our luck! After answering my last email at around 945PM, I ask the LORD - if he could hold off the wind and rain for the next 10 to 12 hours so that we aren't filming our racers auditioning for parts in the remake of Twister!

Come to find out, prayers changes thing!  Though it was cold at 6AM when I left my house to set the course - the weather was going to hold off until later that afternoon.   PERFECT!

Course Setup - DONE!  Flagger and Officials Meeting - DONE!  Riders to the Starting Line - and we're off!   Though there was some wind earlier on, I noticed that as the first wave of riders turned around it had calmed down some.  When the second wave left, the temperature was hoovering around 50 degrees and the winds were moderately lighter than they were during setup!

But who was am I kidding, any wind that is light or moderate that masks itself as a tailwind, sucks when you turn around and has now become a HEADWIND!  But like complete MONSTERS - everyone tucked in and made home safe.

They other thing that I hate as a promoter, is that I don't always get to talk to everyone!  It's not by choice, it's that I have to make sure we have done everything to ensure the safety of the riders, and to ensure a great event.  Lisa George, I'd like to finish our conversation that we started before the race.  It warmed my heart to see you on Sunday, cause like I said earlier - prayer changes things!  WE LOVE YOU MAMA!!

Nothing happens in racing without volunteers!  You all are COMPLETE ROCKSTARS!  My OBRA Officials are the best around!  Thanks Julia, Ariel and Chris!  Thanks to Peak Sports for providing mechanical and bib number placement support!   Thanks also to the City Of Brownsville for allowing us into the community yet again!

Thank you also goes out our team - Revenge Cycling & Racing for supporting this race!

Like every race - before and after - THANK YOU SHANNON K. GRAHAM for all that you do!

Until the 29th of April.

For Start To Finish

Kenny Graham

I have visions sometimes!  I see things - while sitting in a meeting, talking to someone on the phone or driving down Interstate 5 everyday - I have visions.   Not of the SUPERNATURAL type or of ghost, but where some of those ideas in my mind will ever go.  When we decided to dissolve our relationship with Pacific Power Blue Sky/WVCT, the question was "what's next?"   When we started Revenge Cycling & Promotions, the thought in the back of mind was we should have our own cycling team - thus the opportunity - presenting Revenge Cycling & Racing!

How many people are interested, what's are purpose in the community, who's going to sponsor us, and what's are kits going to look like!  By no way am I graphics savvy expert, but with my 70's Garanimals and 80's Genera style, in my mind there is some amazing things going on in there. So, I enlisted the assistance and guidance of graphics JEDI Cat Groya.  She laughed when I brought my concept ideas to her in PowerPoint format (my go too), but kindly worked with me and showed me the ways of the FORCE and create something extraordinary!

Our purpose in the community: to be the brand ambassadors that OBRA needs when out and about in the Pacific Northwest.  To promote cycling in a safe but enjoyable light that should be experienced by all who are interested.

Who are our sponsors:  Great companies like Peak Sports in Corvallis, Yakima Racks, Sigma Sport, Specialized, Showers Pass, GQ-6 and Eliel Cycling.  Thank you all for your amazing support and commitment to Revenge Cycling & Racing, but the enrichment of cycling!

As for the kits - The final concept drawings are back and all I can say is DAMN!!!  Like Usher Raymond said - I don't know about YOU, but I know about US, and this is the only way we know how to ROCK!  These turned out way better than what I envisioned my head, and that really makes me happy.   Thanks again Cat, and to Brittany, Derek and Brian from Eliel Cycling for all you hard work!

Look out world, REVENGE is coming!

Awesome Raffle Gift

Kenny Graham

Sometimes you enter a race and get a pair of socks in the raffle.   Nothing wrong with socks - cause GOD knows I love them.  But wouldn't be cool if you entered a time trial race and after awards are being handed out, your name is called out for the GRAND PRIZE!!!

This year - with the assistance of the GREAT John O'Brien and the Redline Bike Group, we have been given a really cool bike to raffle this year - the Redline Monobelt 29er!  So, if you've never won anything in your life, this could be your chance!  You just have to enter to race at the 2014 Revenge Of The Disc Time Trial Series - July 26th and August 3rd!

Good luck!

The Return Of Sneaky Joe

Kenny Graham

At first, his return was but a whisper. Stories told to scare cyclists. Stories about an Alpaca obsessed with anyone traveling by bike. Now, it appears that the tales are true. Sightings have become all too frequent, and now the return of The Mammal, The Myth, The Legend has come. The Return of Sneaky Joe has begun.
